Ontario Council for International Cooperation AGM

The Ontario Council for International Cooperation hosted its annual general meeting and symposium for its 30th anniversary this past Thursday in Toronto. Dr. Shelagh McCartney was an invited panelist on Catylyzing Sustainable Development Goals Ecosystem in Canada.

Panellists included Brielle Beaudin-Reimer, Métis Citizen, Cultural Advocate and Speaker, Tina Sweeney, Outreach and Partnerships Officer, Cuso International, Jon Beale, Network Manager, SDSN Canada and was moderated by JP Bervoets, Vice President, Community Foundations of Canada.

The panel discussed insights from the recent Waterloo Global Science Initiative on the United Nation's Sustainable Development Goals. Topics touched on the importance of metrics when measuring relationships and change, SDG language as inclusive and exclusive, improving communication and the role of building meaningful relationships on trust, listening and understanding.
