The Waterloo Global Science Initiative (WGSI) brings together multi-disciplinary, multi-generational and multi-sectoral group to collectively work together on a focused subject. The WGSI's current focus is on the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), a set of global goals to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all- including Canada- by 2030.
This WGSI Summit, Dr. Shelagh McCartney was invited to participate in discussions on how Canada can implement the Sustainable Development Goals. Over four days a group of 40 people, including our partners from Eabametoong First Nation, will work collaboratively to design a subnational framework for action on the SDG.
