CEx18:DWELL
Wednesday January 10, 2018 | Toronto
Ryerson University's Department of Architectural Science is holding its annual Collaborative Exercise, a four-day charrette bringing together 450 undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, sessional instructors and visiting experts including Dr. Shelagh McCartney.
DWELL (2018) asks students to imagine new forms of housing around the immediate Ryerson University campus. The results of CEx18:DWELL will be part of the funded study StudentDwellTO, a collaborative and inter-disciplinary study across Toronto's four universities focusing on student housing.
DAS students will focus on selected sites around Ryerson University which are considered underdeveloped, inappropriately developed, or have potentially obsolete uses to improve the built form and public realm of the campus.
The work will hopefully be used to inform the development of design standards and approaches for increasing the availability, quality and affordability of student housing in the StudentDwellTO project.
